About Us
I’m delighted to introduce you to an innovation in Albanian sports, snooker sport. “Snooker is an intelligent game, but not just: it is a sport that is performed by all social classes: King, President, Female and Male.It is a contemporary game that is played in the most developed European countries such as England, France, Germany and so on. It is a loving game not only for those who play but gives as much emotion to those who follow, and today the audience of a live game of the World Snooker Championships reaches over 250 million viewers. To bring this vision and in Albania, the country that adheres with full EU membership membership is organized in the Snooker Federation of Albanians. We are created in the form of non-profit association and the main goal and mission is to spread Snooker’s passion.
Our Federation has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Sports on 05.11.2015.
Our Federation was approved by the Court with Decision No. 5227 dated 26.02.2016
During 2016, these national activities were conducted:
- Man Individual National Championship - Snooker from January 29, 2016-01 February 2016
- National Championship (Discipline -Snooker 6 Reds) from April 18, 2016 - April 24, 2016
- Albanian Cup ``Gold Cue 2016`` - Snooker from 20 May to 22 May 2016
- ``Ali Asllani`` Cup - Snooker, Vlore from 10 August - 12 August 2016
- Team National Championship from 22-25 September 2016
- National Individual Championships U18 and U21 - Snooker from 14 to 16 October 2016
- ``Best 16 Players of Albania`` Cup - Snooker from 23rd to 25th December 2016
During 2016, these International activities were conducted:
- Participation with 4 Players in the Snooker European Championship (snooker) held in Wroclaw, Poland on 08.02.2016 until 20.02.2016.
- Participation with 4 Players, 1 coach and 2 Refferes at the Snooker European Championship (6 Reds and Teams) held on 31 May 2016 until 11 June 2016 in Lithuanian Vilnues.
- Participation with 1 player and 1 coach in Snooker World Championships for U18 and U21 ages to be held in MOL, Belgium, from 16 August 2016 until 25 August 2016. Our country was introduced to 17-year-old talent, Eklent KAÇI, who took over the 9th place in the ranking as well as the national coach for youth Mr. Dorjan Maknori.
- Participation with 2 players and 1 coach at the Snooker world championship held in Doha, Qatar on 19-29 November 2016.
During 2017, there were realized:
- During this year the Albanian Snooker Federation has trained and certified 4 Albanian Referees from International Institutions. This referees are capable to operate in Albania and abroad.
- Our Federation has trained and licensed 4 people as National & International trainers. We have invited in Albania on 30 January up to 2nd February 2017 the International Coach Mr. Stephane Ochoiski.
- The Albanian Snooker Federation took part in the European Championships for Ages U18 and U21, which took place in Nicosia, Cyprus from March 5, 2017 until March 19, 2017. Our country was presented with 18-year talent Eklent KAÇI, 10-year talent Kledio KAÇI and youth coach Mr.Dorjan Maknori.
- The Albanian Snooker Federation organized the Snooker European Championship in Shengjin, Albania from May 31, 2017 until June 11, 2017. In this championship, there were 250 players from all over Europe and their families and fans. This event raised the snooker sport values in Albania and boosted our tourism in the Lezha area. This event was attended by 43 European countries (http://www.ebsa.tv/member-countries/) as well as 50,000 viewers per day through TVSH Sport and Telesport. The city of Lezha (Rafaelo Resort Shengjin, Lezha) was selected for the development of this activity so that all guests would enjoy the Shengjin beach and tourist guides in Lezha. Kruje, Tirana and Shkoder that we realized for their players and their families.
